The PIFON [Pacific Islands Farmer Organisation] three-day planning meeting held in Nadi last January 28-30 under the MTCP2 funded by IFAD and SDC, was a timely opportunity to collaborate with partners in the planning of national farmer organisations’ activities to be implemented in the Pacific. The SPC Pacific Agriculture & Policy Project [PAPP] funded by the European Union, was invited to be part of the planning meeting, given some of the activities that will be jointly funded by PAPP with a goal to increasing the livelihoods of small holder farmers. Information Knowledge Management [IKM] was part of the meeting given its importance. Dissemination of valuable information including farmers’ success stories and lessons learnt is greatly encouraged and a short video of PAFPNET [Pacific Agriculture Forestry & Policy Network] was presented with an aim of promoting the platform within the Asian and Pacific farmer networks to encourage greater online collaboration and exchanges, to enable small holder farmers, individuals and organisations make informed decisions.
