The Pacific Island Farmers Organization Network (PIFON) 2015 Planning and Training meeting for the Medium Term Cooperation Programme (MTCP II ) got underway at Nadi, Fiji this morning. It is attended by 14 participants from five Pacific island countries including PNG who are attending the PIFON meeting for the first time. It is also attended by a team from the Asian Farmers Association.

During the three day meeting, the participants will be expected to review the activities implemented in 2014 and to finalise the activities that the countries will implement in 2015.

In his opening remarks, a board member for PIFON Mr Clement Hadosia mentioned that PIFON has had a successful year of operation in 2014 as more farmers are benefiting from the farmer to farmer exchanges promoted through the network. He envisaged that this will be intensified in 2015. He thanked IFAD for its continued support towards the network.
